In MYOB Advanced you can use a hand held scanning device to issue inventory items out of your system outside of the sales process
Purpose
To assist you with issuing inventory items out of your warehouse for purposes outside of the sales process. such as:
- remove/write off expired items
- remove/write off damaged stock, etc.
- if you are consumer of all stock you receive from supplier, e.g. hospitals.
Note: You may want to transfer this stock out of the general storage locations and into a specific location ready for removal/disposal first. For more information refer to Scan and Transfer Items.
You can perform this task either on a desktop or using hand held devices.

Scan and Issue
Reason Codes
The system will automatically assign the default reason code of 'ISSUE' for the inventory items. If you need to use different reason codes, please consult with the BusinessHub consultant for assistance.
Device
To identify the location of an inventory item:
- Open the MYOB Advanced app and select Warehouse Management.
- Tap Scan and Issue.
- Enter/scan the required warehouse.
- Enter/scan the required Location.
- Enter/scan the item code.
- Optional: If you are tracking lot/serial numbers, then enter/scan the lot number.
- Enter the required quantity to issue.
Note: Repeat steps 3-7 to scan and issue different items from different locations in the warehouse. - Tap Review to see the issue details.
- Tap on the Inventory Item to see the details of the item.
- Tap the Ellipses button and select Release.
The Issue document is released.
Desktop
To issue inventory items out of a specified location:
- Navigate to and open the Scan and Issue screen (IN302020).
- Enter/scan the required warehouse.
Inventory > Automated Operations > Scan and Issue (IN304020) - Enter/scan the required location.
- Enter/scan the inventory item.
- Optional: If you are tracking lot/serial numbers, then enter/scan the lot number.
- Enter the quantity to issue.
Note: If items must be issued from another warehouse location, you scan the barcode of this location (that is, return to Step 3) and repeat the process for this location. - Click Release.
Inventory > Automated Operations > Scan and Issue (IN304020) - The Issue document is released.
